SAVE OUR SCHOOLS FOR OUR KIDS (SOS4OK) FOUNDATION ADDRESSING EMERGENCY HUNGER BEFORE AND URGENT THANKSGIVING TRI-STATE TOUR
(CT, NY, MA)
Turkey, chicken and meat shortages and skyrocketing prices of food have children without food for the Holidays. SOS4OK and its partners team up together to make an emergency impact on 2,000 needy children and families across several states – Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts.
Save Our Schools for Our Kids Foundation believes the most important meal for a hungry family may be the meal before Thanksgiving. One in four children are going to bed hungry nightly. One in eight families will be without a Thanksgiving meal. Since July 2020, our organization, and all its partners have fed over 115,000 families in Bloomfield, Hartford, Meriden New Britain, Waterbury, New Haven and Bridgeport. After this week, we will have fed 117,000.
We thank our generous partners New Creation Academy, Blue Hills Fire District, Diane Brown and the Stetson Library of New Haven as well as our generous sponsors: Stop & Shop, Swaz Potato Farm, New Creation Foundation, Eric and Jessica Zachs Family Foundation, Howard K. Hill Funeral Services, Curtis and Sheila Robinson Foundation, C&R/ACC Construction Management Services, Hamden Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center, U-Haul, Ray Vernon, Mayor and Town Councilor Suzette DeBeatham- Brown, Femi Bogle-Assegai, Karol Jimenez, Gabriel Brodoy, Beth Murphy, Stephanie and Mark Ringuette, and Natalie Price.
