SAVE OUR SCHOOLS FOR OUR KIDS FOUNDATION completed the first statewide back-to-school tour events covering three towns. We gave out just over 1,100 backpacks with donated school supplies, 7,000 masks, hand sanitizers, 500, learning games for children ages 3-5 years old, ten raffle prizes per city and town. We gave 15, 000 pounds of Perdue oven roaster chickens to families in Bloomfield, Hartford, and New Haven. The chicken was given to churches, homeless shelters, seniors, and the sick and shut in.
A very special thanks to Connecticut State Police, Connecticut Emergency Management for the Department of Homeland Security, and the Connecticut Army National Guard for helping us Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Your support and help were vital and we are so very grateful to you through each experience.
In Bloomfield, we served 300 children and families.
In Hartford, we served 300 children and families at the event and into the community. In Hartford, we went into the Streets of Hartford to give families the remaining frozen chickens.
In New Haven, nearly 400 children and families trickled onto and out of the New Haven Green. Nearly 100 were given in the evening time to the "Behavior" Ashmun Street Family and a few backpacks were given to Diane Brown of the Stetson, Branch Manager, Stetson Library to give to families.
We secured and raffled off the following prizes for children and families:
6-Cuisinart Griddlers
Portable Bluetooth Speaker
Foxwoods Resorts & Casino Weekend Get Away
Airline Tickets and Hotel Accommodations
Las Vegas Getaway
7-Night Resort Getaway
2-Night 3* Hotel Getaway
Yale Bookstore Gift Basket,
And more...
Truly, this was a fun experience for the children and families.
We could not have done any of this without ALL OF YOU! We appreciate your support, from the major to the minutest form. We salute and honor you. We thank your gift of time.
